Stache

ASU transitions from LastPass to Stache

Earlier this year, Enterprise Technology informed our communities that LastPass was no longer recommended for use due to repeated security incidents. After careful consideration, a new password manager has been identified for enterprise use: Stache.

Stache is a simple, lightweight and secure password manager that can be used to safely store and share ASU work-related passwords with colleagues. Relied upon by several other large research institutions, Stache is a dependable, preferred password management solution for professionals across the IT industry.

Next steps

Following September 9, 2023, all ASU LastPass users will be able to access the items previously stored in their Shared Folders by logging into Stache with their asurite ID and password. From there, users can begin exploring and leveraging all this collaborative credential-sharing tool has to offer

Please note: Stache is for faculty, staff and students to share ASU work-related passwords only. For personal use, please see the linked page for potential options.
