Do's

Don'ts

  • Create complex passwords, and leverage two-factor authentication when available
  • Educate yourself. Faculty and staff are required to complete ASU Annual information security training
  • Lock your electronic devices
  • Look for the lock icon and "https" in Web addresses
  • Trash unnecessary data files
  • Update system and antivirus software often
  • Use ASU encrypted Wi-Fi or VPN(Virtual Private Network)
  • Click untrustworthy links, advertisements or surf suspicious websites
  • Infringe copyrights i.e. use or share pirated media
  • Open unsolicited emails that request personal informaiton, e.g. phishing scams
  • Share your password
  • Use systems that have not been properly secured against malware or virus
